The new Trango X-Light is your chance to fly exactly the same wing as Alex Hofer and Toma Coconea flew in the 2009 Red Bull X-Alps. Simply put, our R&D guys built a specialised wing for the X-Alps and ended up liking it so much that we decided to put it into general circulation!
Some highlights of the UP Trango X-Light:
The Trango X-Light comes in the special Lightweight glider livery, Green/White. It can be ordered in Orange/White and Red/White at no surcharge (allow 6-8 weeks for delivery), and be designed individually using our advanced colour chooser software tool (there's a small surcharge for custom colours - see your local UP representative for details).
Our latest thoroughbred adventure wing is designed to go where no pilot has gone before - but that doesn't mean you couldn't take it to a big comp and kick some a** on it! In fact that is exactly what Alex Hofer did - he took his to the Swiss Open to train for the Red Bull X-Alps, and came 2. in the overall ranking! His success may have been partly due to the fact that conditions during the comp were exceedingly rough - both Alex and the Trango X-Light are known to have high discomfort thresholds, and when you put the two together the result is going to be spectacular for sure - but even if your own discomfort threshold is not on par with Alex' this wing will look after you whereever you take it, no surprises, no bite, just efficiency and ease in all conditions. The speed system has been redesigned especially for this wing and gives it immediate response on the speed bar, a flat polar and a very respectable 62km/h+ top speed.
